Re: Mode7 you need to start supporting the game further.

Playing from behind, or with really sucky units, isn't a good feeling, but playing the game out usually feels worthwhile by the time I'm done with it. And sometimes the horse sings... It's the games where your opponent took out three of your men for only one of his, but lost track of your shotgun u...

Re: Ask A Question, Recieve An Answer (help us out pro playe

When it comes to planning ahead, rather than trying to plan for specific moves (from either side) I look at positioning at the end of the turn - how exposed units will be, how much map control they'll have, and of which areas, and what sort of positional options the enemy units will have. In a dark ...

Re: small bug with aiming.

when you use the command to tell a unit to look in a direction you get a dotted line starting at the unit that you can move around to make him look in certain places. the problem is, when you re-look by dragging the command to look, the dotted line does not start at the unit, but instead it starts ...

Re: For the love of god, nerf rocket and grenade launchers

Grenades are limited because: ⋅ They have limited range ⋅ They can fire at most once per turn ⋅ They can't reaction-fire ⋅ The explosion always happens several seconds after they fire ⋅ If the turn ends between them entering their firing cycle and th...

Re: Check and Duck. Quick Q's

Okay just got the game, and 2 Q's. Question 1: I can take a good guess and say that Check...makes your guy check (look) a certain way....but what's the point? Why not just have him aim that way? Maybe it's used later, but again..I just started playing. a) If you are set to "continue on sight&q...

Re: Wishlist thread

I created a thread on the Steam forums, but I'll post my wishlist here: I love this game but some glaring omissions IMO. Some of these may have been mentioned in the past and some of them may be available but I haven't found the command for them. 1) Ability to switch servers without exiting the gam...

Re: My wishlist/suggestions for Frozen Synapse

Explosives: Rockets need to move a little on their flight path to add balance. This doesn't mean that your rocket will fly in a 90 degree different flight path, but maybe if you are hoping to get right through a tiny squeeze, there's a chance that it will break off and hit the wall, instead. This w...

Re: I MUST KNOW

Do certain classes have limited sight-range? So a shotgun unit will have a shorter sight than a machine gunner? I've not encountered any limit on sight-range, though that's only significant in Dark modes. Units will ignore enemies beyond their maximum firing range and continue their orders. Differe...

Re: I MUST KNOW

Only half-height obstacles count for cover - corners and doorways don't. Things that could explain you losing your unit: if there was a second piece of cover closer to his unit than to yours, then the cover bonuses would cancel; it's possible that a moving, unaimed unit with cover loses to a station...

Re: Rocket launchers ruin single play.

The biggest handicap explosives face is that they only ever fire to order - with bullet-types, even if you completely misread the situation, you've got something like a 1/3 chance of happening to be facing the right way to return fire. With an explosive unit, an opponent can appear at the start of t...

Re: Rocket launchers ruin single play.

If rocket launchers only removed walls then they may add some tactics to the game, but the splash damage is ridiculous and usually kills all pawns in the room, so forget all else, lets blow their stuff up before they blow my stuff up. It is easy to win using rocket launchers, but I never feel that ...

Re: Unfinished games and players scores

Nothing has been done about unfinished games and players scores. It is a serious flaw in the game that a player can just stop playing with no consequences. It makes a mockery of the game and the scoring system. I really think it's time this was sorted, the game is definitely not in beta now!!!!! Se...

Re: Idea to handle tournaments and unbalanced starting scena

In general, playing the same map a second time from the other side is going to give different results than if you'd played it from the other side the first time - both players have practiced on the map already... If I were setting up tournaments, I'd take my lead from competitive Bridge - a game whe...

Re: Dark hostage: Most one-sided lineup?

The one disadvantage of letting the hostage taker place the hostages is that it gives them an auto-win if there's a sealed box overlapping the hostage start zone - seal the hostages in and wait... I'm not sure I've ever seen a map with sealed box. Maybe you can do it with the map editor, but I'm fa...
