Re: Single Player Campaign - Starting Team

It's my experience of "Knockout". I've since played "Global Cortex League", and that swaps correctly.

SP Game Crash

A long-form season mode game. I submitted a more complex than usual turn, and the game crashed after a few seconds. It continues to crash as it loads if I try and continue the game. P.S my compressed save directory was initially larger than the attachment size limit. I've had to delete other (finish...

Single Player Campaign - Starting Team

In every single player match I've played, my team starts as defence. Is that how it's "supposed" to be? Have I missed a reason for that in the backstory? It doesn't make sense from a future sport perspective.

Disputed with no boxes

I'm in turn 7 of game of Dark Disputed (716866), and there are no objectives. At least, none visible to me, not that my opponent's behaving like he's going for them either. I haven't been able to ask him.

Re: Gameplay is now merely second-guessing, not tactics

In particular, Maurice Tan at Destructoid said: " Each turn you get 5 seconds of actual "real time" action to plan for by moving your units around, focusing their aim, and turning the soldiers at hand into a deadly and precise surgical tool of murder. ". "Precise" and ...

Re: Thoughts on riot shield?

don't like the fact that you can just walk through them... Erm?! In what universe is that even vaguely logical!? The same one where you can also walk straight through other people? :) (hmm... has anyone tried hitting them with rockets yet?) Impacting rockets detonate. It was a surprise to me, thoug...

[...stuff...] This is what I meant by there quite possibly being good reasons why it couldn't be handled on the client side. That... (be polite..., be polite...) That doesn't make any sense. The proposal is 1. the server continue to do what it does now 2. the client continues to do what it does now...

Unfinished Games, an alternative implementation suggestion

Most of us don't like it when people abandon in-progress games, for whatever reason. There was/is supposed to be a mechanism to award a win to the player who last committed there turn if the other player doesn't do anything. That mechanism doesn't currently work. That mechanism is/would be some offl...

Re: Honest and (not so) concise review of FS

Reasonable stuff As Scorpion says, you don't seem to realise that you can use waypoints for where you want to go, and the click on the lines between them (or on timers) to issue orders. I certainly don't seem to have the difficulty you describe as pixel hunting or in luring, at least. I agree with ...

Re: Two MGs continuously shooting

I've also seen this happen, most recently with an enemy shotgunner. With no orders, my unit remained intact with the enemy shotgunner shooting continuously. I was slightly surprised that I could otherwise order my targeted unit to successfully evade. On submitting the turn, it didn't turn out like t...

Re: The 'Campaign To Rid This Game Of Abandoned Losses' thre

This thread is going to be nothing but trouble. Like, your very first case: 582656 - UK1 Peekee vs Scorpion0x17 You're not a clear, winnable position. If Peekee stays where he is, he's untouchable, whereas you've got a killable unit (i.e one close enough to a wall). Consider yourself pilloried.

Re: logging in to grand server randomly successes

If it doesn't connect after a few seconds, then quit, reload, and try again. Do you have some information to indicate that this is good advice? Because if you haven't, trying every few seconds could possibly make things worse, with, perhaps, the grand server handling more queued requests for sessio...

Re: Wishlist thread

I'm finding the chat/messaging frustrating. It's fine when your opponent's there, and you want to play "live", but useless otherwise. It's completely at odds with playing the game asynchronously. The worst is when you're typing at match end and your opponent leaves, and getting the useless...
