Gadgets

Everyone loves high-tech spy gadgets. Remeber the "sticky cam" from Splinter Cell ? Imagine playing around with that in a "dark" FS game. It could be interesting to have "Special Forces" units that replace the current units on your team; for instance, instead of a rocket guy and a sniper, you'd get ...

Not if Mr. Staff's first name is "Ban".

Re: [Bug] Charge setup

Yep. Although I don't remember if and where the zones were, my units were stacked neatly in the top left corner, while the opponent's were stacked tidily in the top right. After losing with what I thought was an ambitious bid, the positions were reversed.

I approve of this idea. Not so much because I can't find games, but because sometimes I would just like to play a game that lasts a day or two, and not have to do the first turn right away.

Re: New patch out for testing

Does anyone else think that the pop-up box for challenges disappears a little bit too fast? I missed it a couple of times now, but it could also just be due to my fantastic reaction times... :D I don't think delaying it for longer helps any. At the moment, it seems that the Grand Server will ask ev...

Re: <Community help> Colour-blind colors

Speaking of which, the starting squares having the same color as opponent's bid in Secure is just confusing.

Re: New patch out for testing

There's not really a lot to hack, if FS does things the right way. The server can re-simulate your turn, it doesn't have to send you the next turn until you've submitted your previous turn, and it doesn't have to send you the positions of opponents in the Dark game modes unless it's determined that ...

Re: <Community help> Colour-blind colors

I found these diagrams showing the three different types of color blindness to be helpful. I'd suggest orange and dark teal as alternate colors. Those affected by tritanopia should have no problem with the current red/green scheme.

Re: <Community help> Font Test

Why do you want to get rid of Arial? It is — as far as I know — still the best font out there.
My typography teacher once told me, "you can use fonts other than Arial or Times new Roman, but you'd better have a very good reason".

Purely out of curiosity, do any of you who are colorblind use some kind of color correction software? If not, why?

Re: Question: interest in Mac vs Windows statistics

How about letting the user specify an occupation, then pick two random ones to pit against one another? Engineers vs. Bus Drivers: 3 - 3 The scores should probably be caclulated by wins per match played, unless you want to keep track of how many times an engineer has won over a bus driver and vice v...

Works for me, at least in singleplayer. And I could have swore I did it in multiplayer too.

Actually, I was just thinking about a protocol that launches FS and loads the game ID.

Haha, I thought having only one mouse button was just a stereotype.

Me, I don't have a scrollwheel.
