Is this game alive?

I found this game because I found Frozen Synapse from hunting down the music that was on audiosurf. I was thinking of buying the giant Beta bundle for FS that comes with Determinance. I tried out the demo and was very much impressed, but it appears that the community is long dead. This is kind of a deal-breaker for me as I'd love to actually try this game against people.
