"Essential" features

Re: "Essential" features
A borderless windowed mode for fullscreen gaming in a window. This is admittedly becoming less of a concern with modern systems easily switching between games and other processes, though FS takes a curiously long time to restore even on my 2600K system. You can see fine examples of this in games on modern versions of the Source engine, and recent Blizzard games.
Who thought it'd be a good idea to prevent me from selecting my native resolution when running in windowed mode?
I run two monitors which creates an issue with FS seen in many other games: the mouse isn't locked to the game window, which means at any time it could move to my other monitor and my next click will banish the game to my taskbar because it isn't in windowed mode.

Dunno if it has been mentioned but separate files for recording would be nice rather than overwriting the same one

I didn't read the whole post so sorry if someone already requested this
I would LOVE some kind of "Avoid explosive weapons" or just "Avoid rocket launcher" (As the nadelauncher is ok).
From my point of view the RPG is completely destroying the tactics in this game... Its more of a Spray/Point-&-Pray weapon. I have yet to see a guy who is not randomly shooting it in the general direction of the enemy every single turn.
Please make it possible to avoid the RPG in matchmaking. I'm fine with the other guy have to select the same option or an "I'm ok without RPG" option (So it won' make angry faces of the people who like the RPG).

Maybe nerfing it would do the trick too (smaller radius, one shot every 2turns)

Wakey and Cirno if you don't want these random game with RPG just ignore them. Will be a draw.

More hotkeys. Hotkeys to play, pause, rewind, and go to previous or next 5-sec-part would be great.

Space plays and pauses. Backspace rewinds, but not always. Seems to be a bug there.

As it is, the loads themselves are pretty quick but I get 4-5 games going at a time and a lot of my time is spent waiting while turns load. Something that would keep me coming back for the long term, or something to make this game easier to sell to my friends, is if the loads were faster or lessen the amount of loads needed to handle multiple games.

...
+1 on borderless windowed mode
Pretty please? =D
PS. I absolutely love the game, it's beyond beautiful.

And a colorblind checkbox to auto set the colors, already got the unit colors solved in my other thread, trying to find appropriate territory colors. I'm willing to hazard a guess none of the dev team is colorblind.

Re: "Essential" features
Two things that really need work:
1. In-game chat needs to be stored with the game. The current "go to IRC!" suggestion is pretty useless. If you could automatically open up a private IRC chat, with the missed message already in it, then we'd be good. What it should probably do is store the messages within each game, instead of discarding them immediately if not successfully delivered. Then, games with unread messages should display a "MSG" indicator in the games list, just like the "NEW" indicator for when a turn is available.
2. The chat window should not gain focus when my opponent types something, only when I click in it! I'm constantly filling the chat window with "1241sevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv" because I'm trying to give orders with the keyboard and my typing cursor jumps to the chat against my will.

I also seem to be having trouble uploading videos to YouTube via the functionality provided in the game. Not sure if that's me or the game itself. I love this feature btw (and would marry it if I could get it working

Re: "Essential" features
Any chance of a portable wrapper of some kind? I'm not talking about porting the game to phones (although that would be pretty awesome too
), but a wrapper around the game to allow it to be run from a standalone .exe file, without having to install.

Re: "Essential" features
[UI] - Hidden games should stay hidden through logout/login , put a number next to hidden games for ones that need a turn done. But don't include the number when the games box is minimized.
[UI] - if not the above, then being able to decline games or delete ones you don't ever plan on playing. I hate having defunct games on my list.

Re: "Essential" features
An menu option to disable this prompt would be a nice optimization.
