Sorry for the Steam inquiry .FS not starting

Hi all,

Running FS in Steam. All good until I did a hard drive format and reinstall of everything. Windows 7, celeron laptop.

Steam starts. FS files verify ok. FS in the library but will not start. I note that request cd key hangs with a requesting key message. I have my key stored away if I need it.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Just turned off the windows firewall. Nothing changed.

I installed the non steam FS. It does not start. The windows firewall popped up and I cleared FS for internet access. FS is visible in the list of processes for about 30 seconds then disappears.
