This can be a real problem sometimes!

My personal suggestion would be to pick a primary and a secondary team color for your team. You always play with your primary color, unless the hue is too close to the hue of the primary color of your opponent. In that case, one of the teams has to use its secondary color.
In that way, you play with the same color most of the time. (Which would really make things easier for me.) And when you don't, you always play with your secondary color.
(You'll probably recognise this strategy from European football team colours )
[edit:] Wait - did I just find this exact behaviour in the game actually? *foot in mouth*
I also see it's in the manual - was this just added? Or do I just need glasses.
