I have been very impressed by the uniform playability of the field layouts, but I just had this show up in SP--note that red is on offense. The defense can block the path from the two closest offensive players, gather the ball, and score a guaranteed 9 points. The only way for the original offense to win would, I think, have been to allow blue to get the ball on offense on its second possession (6 turns elapsed), get it back, pick up two points zones (plus any blue scored on its offensive turn), and score in overtime. At first thought, I think a requirement that the offense has the closest player to the ball (by enough to ensure he can get a pass off, making some assumptions about stats) may be called for.
(If anyone wonders about the score, the AI did not think of blocking at that passage and needed to throw to avoid a tackle, missing the points zone.)
